Description:
Panel departments are responsible for the stripping out and re-fitting of all parts required to carry out repairs to damaged vehicles. All stripping must be carried out as per job card, or other instruction from the Workshop Controller. A high standard must be achieved at all times. Liaising with other members of staff is essential in this role to help the throughput of work.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting extra parts needed to Workshop Controller/Estimator
- Complete check sheet at each stage
- Repair as per job card
- Jig and pull if required or requested
- Check repair methods before carrying out repairs
- Set up welding equipment correctly as per repair methods
- Use extraction at all times
- Align all panels
- Use correct fillers for repair
- Check operations manual for repair systems/filler application
- Cleaning up the work area and making sure that plant and equipment is working correctly, any faults found, immediately inform management of findings
- Responsible for and supervising unqualified staff as necessary
- Liaising with other departments
- Report any problems to Workshop Controller
